Māpura Music is a collaborative programme open to all ages and abilities. No musical experience or skill is necessary, just a ‘give it a go’ attitude and a willingness to explore sound and creativity in a supportive and fun environment.

You’ll create soundscapes, songs and audio atmospheres, and learn how to design album covers, posters and web pages to accompany your music.

The group uses traditional instruments and anything that can be hit or twanged to produce their hits from a parallel universe. You’ll become a recording star with albums released on CD and Bandcamp. You’ll also have opportunities to perform live in front of an audience.

Musicians are encouraged to lose themselves in sound, play, spontaneity, exploration and intuition.
